The power of a podcast š
Iāve produced well over 200 podcast episodes. The vast majority fall somewhere within the spectrum of culture x business x tech.
Itās hard for me to describe how powerful I believe podcasts really are. One amazing hour of podcast audio can revolutionize your marketing funnel, and has incredible leverage.
In a past life, I said that I believe in podcasts the way Phil Knight believed in Nikes. I still do!
We will be signing off for the Holidays, but not before we leave you with 10 of our favourite podcast episodes of 2021. Add all of them to your playlist, and you will feel unstoppable in the first days of 2022. š¤
And with that, here are our Top 10 Podcast Episodes of 2021. š
1. Katie Haun on the Tim Ferris Show š„
Katie is a FORCE. From working on the Silk Road case, to being on the board of Coinbase, itās not the last time we will see a major Katie Haun podcast marquee.
2. Jason Lowery on the Pomp Podcast š„
Pompās social thumbnails can be click-baity at times. The podcast with Jason Lowery of SpaceForce is different in that itās 100% true. I had to listen 4x before I could take the weight of his bitcoin hypothesis.
3. The Balaji marathon on the Tim Ferris Show š„
I tweeted this when the Balaji podcast dropped. Worth every second.
Does this mean I have to take a 4 1/2 hour pod-walk this afternoon?
Challenge accepted. @tferriss@balajis

4. Chris Dixon/Naval on the Time Ferris Show š„
Web3 is a loaded term. I donāt think it has to be. Chris Dixon and Naval are two of the best to walk us through this iteration of an evolving internet.
5. Papa Jake on the Jocko Podcast š„
In my own mind there is a āLife Examinedā podcast genre. You know them when you hear them. Jake Larson landed on Normandy and fought through to the Battle of the Bulge. Heās lived a remarkable life and recently celebrated his 99th birthday. Heās also a TikTok celebrity and Iām here for it.
6. Rickson Gracie on the Jocko Podcast š„
Arguably the greatest athlete, from the greatest mixed-martial arts family of all-time wrote one of the best books of 2021. Jocko trained with him in the 90s in LA and the two developed a friendship from there. Rickson is a special type of human. The kind they just donāt make anymore.
7. Ben Uyeda on the Chase Jarvis Live Show š„
This is for the creatives! Ben is a special content creator and is as wise as he is talented.
8. PlanB and Willy Woo on the Blockware Intelligence Podcast š„
This was a technical episode but well worth your time if youāre interested in on-chain analytics. The primary question being, is bitcoinās halving cycle over as it applies to its effect on price?
The halving cycles will continue, as per the core DNA of the bitcoin network, but Willy argues it wonāt effect spot price in the same way because the asset is maturing in a way that it hadnāt before 2021. Whatās at stake is PlanBās famous Stock-to-Flow (S2F) model.
9. Ep. 1 of the Probably Nothing Podcast š„
This is the best podcast Iāve heard so far on describing NFTs in an accessible way. Hint: They are digital assets whose ownership is tracked on a blockchain.
10. 'Sc3nius' from Packy McCormick on the Not Boring Podcast š„
This was a totally fascinating concept. That, in-effect, the time and place where certain people converge is tied to historic explosions of innovation. Think renaissance Europe. Packy argues that this iteration of the internet is the Web3 scenius.
Honorable Mention: Andrew Huberman on Armchair Expert š
Huberman has a unique mind and there is rarely anyone better steering the podcast ship than Dax Shephard. He is breathing rare air as a host.
Gratitude š
Iāve learned so much from you all already. Iāve absorbed your feedback, took it to heart, and weāre implementing a lot of it in 2022. See you on the other side.3
See you on the path.
